Sprocket Alignment

The second of three fictional services. It exists so the site has more than one internal destination worth linking to.

How an alignment is judged

Alignment is judged by play: the distance a sprocket travels before it engages. Under two tenths of a millimetre passes, anything above it does not, and the figure is invented in both directions because there is no sprocket and no gauge.

A misaligned sprocket is usually a symptom rather than a cause. On the imaginary bench it points back at the flange seat, which is why an alignment job and a flange inspection are quoted together and why this page links to that one.

Nothing on this page describes a real procedure. It is here so a blog post that mentions sprocket alignment has somewhere real to link to, and so a screenshot of a service page can be compared against a screenshot of an article.
